On October 3, local time, Samsung Electronics held the 2024 Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) at the McEnery Convention Center in Silicon Valley, California, USA. During the event, Samsung Electronics announced the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its Internet of Things (IoT) platform, SmartThings, extending its application to other products to enhance the AI capabilities of connected home devices.
At the conference, Samsung Electronics revealed plans to expand the integration of SmartThings Hub into home appliances equipped with 7-inch screens. Through this technology, users will no longer require an additional Hub to connect with devices from other manufacturers.
Industry insiders have disclosed that the challenges in constructing an AI IoT platform lie in ensuring cross-device compatibility and handling massive amounts of data.
