Google Vice President, Parisa Tabriz, recently announced in a blog post that the Chrome browser will undergo an upgrade leveraging artificial intelligence capabilities. The upcoming version will introduce new features, including enhanced tab management, browser themes, and wallpapers. However, these additions are currently in the "experimental stage" and are not yet available to all users.

Additionally, Google plans to integrate a writing assistant into the Chrome browser, with an expected release in February. Users will be able to access the writing assistant by simply right-clicking on a relevant page, allowing them to generate copy by entering a few keywords.

Google stated that the motivation behind this new feature is that many users rely on AI software, such as ChatGPT, to assist with tasks like writing, including exams and homework. As AI writing capabilities have advanced, Google aims to provide users with convenient access to AI writing functions through the browser.

It's worth noting that Microsoft's Edge browser underwent similar upgrades earlier. Through a collaboration with OpenAI, Microsoft incorporated artificial intelligence functionalities into the Edge browser. Not long after ChatGPT gained popularity, Microsoft transformed its Bing search engine into an "artificial intelligence-driven" search engine.

Moreover, tech giants like Google and Microsoft have the resources to not only develop new features for their products but also utilize their extensive user bases to test these features. As a result, current Chrome browser users in the United States will have the option to try out the new features through the browser's "Settings" menu. However, the specific launch date for the updated Chrome browser in other regions is currently unknown.
