Apple has achieved a significant milestone by producing its top-tier iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models in India for the first time this year, marking a crucial moment for both Apple and the Indian manufacturing industry.

Foxconn, Apple's key manufacturing partner, is gearing up to assemble the new flagship devices in India shortly after their global launch this fall, with training already underway for thousands of workers in Tamil Nadu.

This move signifies Apple's commitment to diversifying its production bases beyond China and leveraging India's growing market potential, fueled by fiscal incentives introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attract high-end manufacturing.

By manufacturing in India, Apple aims to meet local demands and potentially lower prices compared to imported devices, despite facing challenges such as high import costs for components and local taxes.

With the Indian market becoming increasingly pivotal for Apple's revenue growth, the company plans to export most iPhones Pro and Pro Max produced in India to markets in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, anticipating a boost in sales during the upcoming holiday season.
