The Economic Times reports that Foxconn is assessing an investment of around $1 billion to establish a smartphone display module assembly factory in Tamil Nadu, primarily to serve Apple's iPhone.
Sources indicate that Foxconn's approach will allow other contract manufacturers, such as Pegatron or Tata Electronics, to utilize components from this factory without the need for assembly modules imported from China.
Insiders also mentioned that while there is no fixed timeline, the company aims to operationalize the factory as soon as possible.
