Tesla's First Cybertruck Rolls Out of the Assembly Line

On November 22, 2019, Tesla's CEO Elon Musk unveiled the company's first electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck, at a launch event in Los Angeles. The Cybertruck's unique, futuristic design was inspired by the sci-fi film Blade Runner and starts at $39,900. Within a week of its debut, Musk announced that the number of Cybertruck orders had surpassed 250,000, indicating strong demand for the innovative vehicle.

Tesla made history as the first Cybertruck rolls out of texas gigafactory. The highly anticipated electric pickup truck comes in three different models: single-motor rear-wheel drive, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and three-motor all-wheel drive. Those models have a range of 250+ miles, 300+ miles, and 500+ miles, respectively.

At a shareholder meeting on May 17, 2023, Musk announced plans to mass-produce and deliver the highly-anticipated Cybertruck later this year, with a projected annual output of 250,000 vehicles or more. He also indicated that the price point would be high, but did not mengtion a precise figure.

Tesla exceeded delivery expectations in Q2 2023 with an 83% YoY increase. In that quarter, Tesla produced 479,700 electric vehicles (86% YoY increase) and delivered 466,100 electric vehicles (83% YoY increase).
